Add a post (at the "post a comment" textbox) to reflect upon the following:
"Name one concept you learned about teamwork in this chapter that you believe will benefit you the most in the workplace, and then explain why."
NOTE: Posting a comment to a blog vs creating your own new post helps to maintain consistency regarding subject matter. In this case, we are all commenting on teamwork, so all of our comments should be in this one location. Hope this helps!
The tips on how to resolve a conflict will be extremely helpful when I enter the workplace. I am often unsure of the right thing to say and do not want to step on anyone's toes when conflict arises. Focusing on points of agreement and remaining objective will help the team stay focused and goal orientated.
ReplyDeleteIn order to promote team work in the workplace one must have conflict resolving skills. Remembering to truly listen to all team members view and identifying the points of agreement are helpful suggestions for resolving conflict.
ReplyDeleteThe advice about seeking to understand others is something I think everyone can benefit from. It reminded me of last week when we talked about what it means to judge people. I think it shows a very strong, respectable personality when people can see that you make an active effort to understand and relate to others. I try not to be judgmental whenever I interact with people. I think if I can influence another person and help them to understand others in a new way, the world might be a little happier!

ReplyDeleteIt its not easy working together in a team, at times you might have someone who is not pulling their weight or they expect the other person to handle all the work. I've learned that by being in a team we are all striving for the same common goal. We are all accountable for the failure and success of a team.
The number one thing that I have learned from teamwork in this class is not being afraid to say your ideas out loud without being afraid. It was a lot of fun being a team, seeing the different personalities, and comparing ideas. The best part is having a team that works, and is fun at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWhen working in teams you should focus on team members strengths not weakness. Remember to respect each other opinions even if you disagree with them. You are all working on a common goal.
ReplyDeleteWorking in teams sometimes not be the best thing, but seems like a lot of business out there are working together to get through their stuff. We all have to learn how to work in teams and be able to communicate with each other and be able to listen also.
ReplyDeleteI learned that I have to be nonjudgmental when working in the team. In a team, we need to be working together because everybody will contribute something, and we have to accept everybody's differences to make the team work to reach the goal.
ReplyDeleteI have learned that actively listening, communication and to enjoy the ride are an important aspect of teamwork. I was reminded of my skill in communication and problem-solving during our activities such as the human chain and balancing ten nails on a single nail, as well as being open to ideas. All of the above goes hand-in-hand in teamwork, one cannot be without the other.
